Raised by hands soaked in emotional neglect and abandonment, it took me a while to regard some of the tools I learned from the ages of 5 until 37 as necessary and vital to my adulthood.

Self-awareness is my superpower.

I am as self-aware as one can be. When you spend hours and days wondering why your Mama doesn't act like all the other Mamas, you learn to do a wash, rinse, and repeat of analyzing your personality, character, and idiosyncrasies. I am the best radiologist of me: I can tell you the basis of every feeling and action I have. I know when I’m wrong as fuck. And I am adamant when I am right. (You may have seen me in action on my social media accounts.)

I have done some stupid shit. Sometimes, I think it’s interesting to open a mental Rolodex of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. It keeps me humble and reminds me how much I have grown. There are some roads I never have to travel down again. Ever.
