I was pregnant for four months. Was being the operative word. I am not pregnant anymore.
Her birthdate is on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Exactly one month after mine. Exactly three months before her Daddy’s. It would be just like a baby of mine to interrupt my chill day. To make me miss my coffee and toast with her screeching cries and outstretched arms as she surrendered to living in a cold, cruel world while always being welcomed by my warm hands and heart. I knew she would be observant and loving like Tory. Since I am her Mama, I also expected that she’d find some clever way to be an interrupter. The same day her father and I like to catch up on episodes of One Piece and any other show that we miss while he’s away at work would be the very day she would begin her gig as my favorite baby. My Gummy Bear. My Forever M_____. (I have chosen not to share her name publicly. I want her to always know she is protected and loved.)
On the very last day I saw her precious face, I knew she was mine.
She will never be born.
