Let’s get right to the point.
Y’all should know that Black people with Long Covid are Black History, too.
Our current political landscape would have you believe that Black History Month should be some random holiday absorbed into the fabric of an American history that idealizes white men with power, but I know you know better. I emphatically say that as the curator of The Blackest Side of Long Covid, IDGADAWADTGS (I Don’t Give A Damn About What A Donald Trump Gotta Say): if you are Black living with Long Covid, I will celebrate us this month! I hope you choose—with your whole heart—to join me.
Here’s why: since 2020, the media has been slow to cover us, with science pretending we are always silent and unresponsive, and a failing healthcare system trying to convince us that we are dramatic and needy.
